Thinking About... The Awesome Food Award!

Hi everyone! I was nominated for the Awesome Food Award by Blessing Counter! Thank you Blessing Counter for nominating me! Be sure to go over and check out her amazing blog here: http://countingyourblessingsonebyone.blogspot.com/

The rules:

1). Thank the person who nominated you, as well as link to their blog.
2). Answer the 10 questions provided.
3). Come up with 10 more questions that relate to food.
4). Nominate at least 5 people.
5). Let those people know they've been nominated.

Blessing Counter's questions:

1. Chocolate or vanilla?
Definitely vanilla. It tastes so good! I love it as the base to my ice cream because it isn't  too overwhelming and goes with anything (Carmel, Oreos, Butterfingers, marshmallows... :) )

2. Favorite dessert?
Cheesecake!!! It is so creamy and AMAZING! What more can I say...? :)!

3. Imagine that it's freezing cold, there's lots of snow, and you just came in from playing outside. Would you prefer to drink hot chocolate or coffee?
Hot chocolate! Although I do like drinking coffee to wake me up, you just can't beat coco and tons of marshmallows!

4. Favorite pie/cake?
Pie! It is soooo good! Apple, pumpkin, cheesecake... wait just a minute... cheesePIE! There we go, that's better :).

5. What is a dessert that you love making/is the easiest thing you can make?
Jello! It is sooo easy to make and comes in so many different colors!!!!

6. What is a meal that you love making/is the easiest thing you can make?
For a really easy dinner we eat hummus on toast. You take a single piece of bread, spread seasoned hummus on, and add tomatoes. You can add salt and pepper, Siracha sauce (or whatever you like :).
It tastes really good and is super easy!

7. Is there a food that you hope that you'll never have to eat in your life time?
Raw fish, raw meat or an undercooked egg... I think you all can see a theme here :).

8. The strangest dish you've ever eaten?
Hmmm... good question. I am not really a risk taker with strange food :). Last week I did eat fried pickles though :). They actually tasted really good!

As I was imagining fried pickles I thought of whole dill pickles.
But it came as sliced pickles, and I was very surprised :).

9. Favorite mealtime? Why?
All of them! Because I am a Hobbit at heart :).
The Hobbit Diet-I want to eat like this everyday but...wait a minute I already do!:

10. How do you make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich? :)
(I loved the video from Studio C Blessing Counter! They have so many funny sketches!)
Okay, how I like to make my PB&J sandwich is...
1st. The bread does not have to be toasted in my opinion :).
2nd. Peanut butter goes on one slice of bread first.
3rd. Then Jelly goes on the other side second. I have to wipe off the peanut butter from the knife before applying the jelly though :).
4th. After closing the sandwich, I cut the it diagonally. That way is best :).

Okay :) Now here are the questions that my nominees (or anyone else) can answer!

1. If you could eat in the best place ever, where would you be, and what would you be eating?
2. What is your favorite holiday food?
4. What is your favorite: Waffles or Pancakes?
5. What is your favorite fruit?
6. If you could eat only one type of food for the rest of your life, what would it be? Why?
7. What is your favorite breakfast food?
8. What is your favorite candy?
9. What is your favorite type of chips?
10. What is your favorite: Cupcakes or Cake?

Here are the people I nominate for this tag:

Thinking About... Don't Give Up!

Hi everybody! I wanted to share some encouraging poems, quotes, and GIFs! Hope you enjoy!

Oh, the Places You'll Go! - By Dr. Seuss

You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself
Any direction you choose.
You’re on your own. And
you know what you know.
And YOU are the guy who’ll
decide where to go.
You’ll get mixed up,
of course, as you already know.
You’ll get mixed up with
many strange birds as you go.
So be sure when you step.
Step with care and great
tact and remember that
Life’s A Great Balancing Act.

And will you succeed?
Yes! You will, indeed!
(98 and ¾ percent guaranteed.)
KID, YOU’LL MOVE
MOUNTAINS!
Thomas Edison invented the light bulb, when he stated, he had over 10,000 failed attempts. He was quoted as saying "it wasn't a failure he just found 10,000 ways a lightbulb would not work". What if he didn't try again? Let's look at how we can benefit using these words in our dealership and in our lives! Click the link below to read this story in its entirety. http://www.fixedperformance.com/1/post/2015/07/try-again.html:
Everyone is intelligent, you just have to work hard.

C.S. Lewis:
Read a lot! Reading is so good for you. The more you read the more you know. Reading also helps you understand cultural references. For an example, Ice Age references Treasure Island (by Robert Louis Stevenson) many times. If you have never read Treasure Island you would never get the references. But when you do understand the references you feel so excited, all your hard work has paid off!

It's better to hang out with people better than you. Pick out associates whose behavior is better than yours and youll drift in that direction. - Warren Buffett:
This is a very good tip. Hang around people who you would like to be like. When you are around people who have a bad influence, you will adopt their attributes. The same goes for people with a good influence, you will start to adopt their good attributes. Be around people who you would like to be like in 10, 20, or 30 years. Think about how they got to where they are, and how you could replicate some things in your life to be like them.

Don't Quit

by: Unknown Author

"When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh.
When care is pressing you down a bit.
Rest, if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns
As every one of us sometimes learns.
And many a failure turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out:
Don't give up though the pace seems slow -
You may succeed with another blow.
Success is failure turned inside out -
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt.
And you never can tell how close you are.
It may be near when it seems so far:
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit."

Best thing EVER!!!! This will brighten your day :)

Have an amazing day everyone!!

Thinking About... The Super Moon!

Hi everybody! I took a few pictures of the supermoon Sunday night and I wanted to share some of the photos with you all!

"The supermoon, which occurs when the moon is at
its closest point to Earth in its orbit, made the moon
appear 14 percent larger and 30 percent brighter.
The lunar eclipse, which occurs when the moon
passes through the Earth’s shadow, caused the
red color. Neither event is uncommon, but they do not
align often." www.nytimes.com

This will not happen again until 2033!

Here it is when it was very red.

The moon, not as red.

Here you can see the shadow of the earth moving away, and the original white of the moon!

Did you get to see the blood moon on Sunday?
Hope you liked my pictures! Have a great day!

Thinking About... Poems!

Today I choose life. Every morning when I wake up I can choose joy, happiness, negativity, pain... To feel the freedom that comes from being able to continue to make mistakes and choices - today I choose to feel life, not to deny my humanity but embrace it. ~ Kevyn Aucoin:
"Never trust a mirror,
For a mirror always lies,
It makes you think that all you’re worth,
Can be seen from the outside.
Never trust a mirror,
It only shows you what’s skin deep,
You can’t see how your eyelids flutter,
When you’re drifting off to sleep,
It doesn’t show you what the world sees,
Where you’re only being you,
Or how your eyes just light up,
When you’re loving what you do,
It doesn’t capture when you’re smiling,
Where no-one else can see,
And your reflection cannot tell you,
Everything you mean to me,
Never trust a mirror,
For it only shows your skin,
And if you think that it dictates your worth,
It’s time you looked within."
~Erin Hanson

I love this poem and wanted to share it with you all :).
Have a great day everyone!

Thinking About... Random Questions Post!

Hey everyone! I was recently nominated by Emily McConnell at:
The Imaginary World of Emily McConnell (and the real one, too)
to answer some random questions. I had a great time answering these, it was really fun! Thank you Emily for nominating me!

Here are the rules:

~ Paste the button onto your blog post.
~ Leave a new list of questions (or just pass on the question list you answered) and tag a few people of your random choice (and say why you tagged them, if you have time!) (Be original and nonsensical in your question-creativity - make the blogging world a cheerful place :-) And be disastrously random.)
Now for the fun...
~Write down three facts about you - one of them is WRONG. Let your commenters guess in the comments which one is wrong (and tell them in the comments after a while)
~Answer the questions of the person who tagged you - make it all super random and interesting :-D
Okay here are the three questions about me. One is incorrect and you have to guess which one below in the comments:

#1 I love it when books have maps in them.

#2 I am growing a lemon plant.

#3 I have read all of the Lord of the Rings books.

Given the choice between writing historical fiction or contemporary, what would you choose?
Historical fiction (at the moment). It is much more fun to create settings and imagine how people lived in the past.

You’ve been sent to a foreign land as a diplomat and you don’t speak the language. You’re supposed to be talking peace talks with this country. What do you do?
First, learn about the country. What is considered offensive in their land? I wouldn't want to offend anyone. Next bring a lot of gifts ☺! They will know you want to be peaceful with them if you bring gifts. Gifts = peace and friendship.

Surprise! You’ve been assigned to be the General of an army and you’re supposed to be planning a surprise attack on the enemy. What are you going to do and will your plan succeed?
Wear the enemy down by keeping them up all night with lots of noise(Like in Beric the Britain). Then when they are all exhausted, come in, in the middle of the night and steal all of their weapons. They will surrender and I will win! (That worked out very well in my favor!)

Would you prefer getting married to a guy who is fairly good and will probably grow more through marriage or would you wait until you’re thirty-nine to marry the perfect man for you?
I would marry the guy who is fairly good while we are both young, as long as he is the guy I was supposed to marry. Trials make relationships and people stronger, not perfection.
Letters to Juliet - life is the messy bits
Quote from the movie Letters to Juliet

Indiana Jones just asked you to come and help him save the world. What are you packing for the trip?
#1 Soap. I am not going to be dirty on an amazing trip that will be re-told down through generations.
#2 Gold. It is valuable in all countries and will keep us from starving. And we won't have to make any currency changes.
#3 An autograph book. I will probably meet tons of famous people including Indiana Jones, and I do not want to regret not getting their autographs.

You’ve been thrown back in time and discovered that T-rexes are vegetarians. How are you going to prove this to people in your time?
#1. I brought my camera. So I will take a picture of the T-rex eating celery. (Which is what they ate ) The problem was that my camera had only enough battery left for me to take one single blurry picture. I regretfully didn't bring my solar powered charger. That photo could have been very powerful evidence, but it wasn't. It looked like a sad attempt at Photoshop. Though I will still use it as evidence.
#2 How could a T-rex be a carnivore with those tiny arms? Just think about that. It is impossible. I think I have made a pretty amazing case .

Fact: T-rexes were vegetarians.

Asked by your best friend to attend her formal tea party, you arrive to discover that she’s invited the presidents/rulers of the world. What would you talk about with them besides politics (because some are bound to get angry when the discussion turns to politics and you can’t talk about those)?

I will try to convince them that T-rexes were vegetarians. It is a fact, and I believe the rulers of the world should know about it .

The police force in your area has asked you to solve the crime of the missing purple giraffe. But you don’t like giraffes and this one has been known to be particularly rude. Are you going to help find him or not? (Bear in mind that he’s a stuffed giraffe who has a tendency to run off whenever he feels like it, and he very well could be on vacation somewhere)

Those giraffes always running off (Shakes head). But since I am a fantastic detective I will find this missing purple giraffe. Hopefully it is taking a vacation in Hawaii or the Bahamas. I work better in tropical settings .

Here is the new list of questions that the people who I nominate can answer:

-Your ship wrecked on a deserted island. What are the three possessions you have saved from the wreckage?

-Do you like dogs or cats better? Why?

-If you had all the money to buy one thing you wanted for yourself, what would it be?

-If one fictional person could come alive and meet you in the real world, who would it be? What would you do together?

-Which side do you take? Waffles vs. Pancakes? Oreos: Cookie, Cream,(or both)? Nike vs. Adidas? Apple vs. Microsoft?

-If you could choose one pet in the whole world, what would it be and why?

-What is your favorite quote?

Now the people I nominate below, can answer these questions if they want to :)! Be sure to comment if you answer these questions so I can read them!

Here are my nominees:

Thinking About... September Favorites!

Hey everyone! Today I want to share with you all some of my favorite things for the month of September!
Here we go!

Favorite song:

I really like this song, especially the chorus:). I heard it at a coffee shop and as it was playing I asked my phone, "What song is this?" (I know, talking to my phone, crazy... lol!) It came up as Jon Bon Jovi's - Because We Can. It is so good!

Favorite App:

I just got a new app for my phone that is amazing! It's called Plant Nanny and it reminds you to drink water throughout the day. The point of the app is that you get a plant, and every time you drink water it waters the plant therefore keeping it alive. If you don't drink water the plant will get sick. It is a good incentive to drink water and is super fun :).
Here are pictures of my plant:

This is how it looks when it has grown some.

This is what it looked like on the first day I got it.

Plant Nanny is so fun, and I highly recommend it!

Favorite T.V. Show:

My family and I have been watching this great show on Netflix called Royal Pains. It is really good!

Here is the summary I found on: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1319735/plotsummary

"Hank Lawson is a doctor who can diagnose a person on the spot and treat them with whatever is around. When he chooses not to personally care for one of the trustees of the hospital where he works (who dies), he is unfairly blamed, fired and blackballed. After months of self loathing, his brother Evan (who is not exactly serious and responsible) takes him to the Hamptons for a break. While there, Hank prevents its local doctor from making a mistake during a medical emergency. Wealthy resident Boris asks if Hank would consider being the town's g.p. or concierge doctor, and soon everyone in town begins calling Hank to treat them. He is also approached by a woman named Divya who wants to be his physician's assistant, but only after meeting Jill Casey, the administrator of the local hospital, does Hank decide to stay, moving with Evan into Boris' guest cottage."
