Thinking About... The Spectacular Book Tag!

Hey everyone! I was tagged for the Spectacular Book Tag by Blessing Counter! Thank you so much Blessing for tagging me!

The rules:
1. Answer the questions
2. Tag 3-5 bloggers

1. What are your favorite book covers?

2. What are your favorite book titles?
Ride the River & Messenger

3. Have you read a book and didn't know why they named it that and what was the title?
Oooh, I don't think so :).
4. Have you read a book with a character that made you mad?
Definitely! There are many characters that make me mad in books. The charactwr I can think of right now is Claggart from Billy Bud.
5. Is there someone or something from a book you would never want to come across?
A beloved animal's death. Its just sad and depressing...

6. If you could meet a character in person from a book who would it be?
For this tag I'm going to choose Jeeves from Jeeves & Wooster. Jeeves is such a genius, and he would be interesting to talk to :)!

7. What book are you currently reading?
Snoop: What Your Stuff Says About You. I'm almost finished with it!

8. Have you read a book that made you cry?
Ooh good question :). I have watched movies that made me cry, but I can't remember a time I cried while reading a book. There are times that I am sad while reading a book though.

9. What is the weirdest book you read? Ethan Frome is a very weird book. I read it a long time ago and it was good, but sad and weird :).

10. What is the worst book/series you ever read?
Hmmm, I don't think I've read a book that I truly hated... I never really got into the Divergent Series. I read a few of them, but I never finished the whole series. I did enjoy the movies though :).

11. If you could only read one more book the entire year what would it be?
Oooh good question, I would probably want to read a mystery, that way by the end of the year I would have figured out how to solve it and also how to write a mystery :). Nothing to scary though... The Westing Game,or something similar :).

If you all have any good recommendations for Mystery books I would love to know!

What are your top two favorite books?
I think I've told you all this a million times...sorry :) My top two favorite books are The Giver and The Westing Game.

What are your top two favorite series?
I love the Circle C Adventure and Milestone series and The Wilderking Trilogy. I really want to read The Maze Runner series, but just haven't gotten around to it yet :). I love all the Mazes Runner movies; I just watched Scorch Trials for the first time! It was really good, but really scary too:).

Who is your favorite fictional character?
I have a lot of  favorite fictional characters but one of my favorites is Jonas from the Giver (of course :D lol).

If any one of your favorite books could be made into a movie which one would you want it to be? Ooh good question... :) Most of my favorite books have already been made into movies, but if  all of the books in the Giver Quartet were made into movies, that would be amazing, especially the book Messenger :).

What is your favorite genre to read?
Definitely fiction. But besides that, I like mysteries, dystopic novels, historical fiction... yeah all that good stuff :).

Do you have a favorite author?
Not really... I like Louis Lowry, Ellen Raskin, Susan Marlow... and lots of others :).

Is there a book that you can hardly wait for it to come out?
Probably the last Circle C Milestone book: The Last Ride! I can't wait to read it :).

What was one of your favorite childhood books?
I loved the Cobble Street Cousins, A to Z Mysteries, The Magic Tree House...

What was one of you favorite books when you were late elementary to middle school age?
Nancy Drew! I loved reading the old Nancy Drew books, they were so good (and still are :D)!

Also...

I've been reading this really great book called Snoop: What Your Stuff Says About You
By Sam Gosling

I got this book for Christmas, and I have been really enjoying it! This is the summary that I got from Amazon: "Do the things on your desk betray the thoughts on your mind? Does your dining room décor carry clues to your character? Award-winning psychologist Sam Gosling has dispatched teams of scientific investigators to poke around bedrooms and offices, check out iPods, and peek at personal websites—to see what can be learned about us simply from looking at our belongings."

I was very interested in reading this book, because it reminded me of one of my favorite T.V shows, Psych. Shawn Spencer (in the green shirt) has the amazing ability to find hidden clues in crime scenes. Shawn and his best friend Gus (in the white shirt) solve crimes which stump the police department.

Anyways... I wanted to share what book I am reading with you all, I'm really enjoying it :)!

Have you ever seen Psych? Does Snoop sound like a good book to you? What book are you reading right now?

Have a great weekend!

Thinking About... Favorite Books Part Four!

Hey everyone! Here is the fourth and last post in the continuation of my favorite books.
If you missed the last post you can check it out here:        Favorite Books Part Three.
    The Adventures of Tom Sawyer
    By: Mark Twain

Here is the book synopsis I found on www.sparknotes.com
An imaginative and mischievous boy named Tom Sawyer lives with his Aunt Polly and his half-brother, Sid, in the Mississippi River town of St. Petersburg, Missouri. After playing hooky from school on Friday and dirtying his clothes in a fight, Tom is made to whitewash the fence as punishment on Saturday. At first, Tom is disappointed by having to forfeit his day off. However, he soon cleverly persuades his friends to trade him small treasures for the privilege of doing his work.
Tom falls in love with Becky Thatcher, a new girl in town, and persuades her to get “engaged” to him. Their romance collapses when she learns that Tom has been “engaged” before—to a girl named Amy Lawrence. Some time later, Tom, Huckleberry Finn, and Tom’s friend Joe Harper run away to an island to become pirates.

This book is really funny and enjoyable!
I hope you will check it out. :)

    Have a great day!

Working with partners, the potential heirs take their clues to try to find the elusive answer to the Westing game and thus take their shares of the two-hundred-million-dollar prize."

I really enjoyed this mystery book when I read it, I hope you will too!

Hi everybody, here is the second post in the continuation of my favorite books.
You can check out the first post here if you missed it:
My Favorite Books Part One

The Giver
By Louis Lowry

Here is the book synopsis I found on www.onread.com:

"Jonas's world is perfect. Everything is under control. There is no war or fear or pain. There are no choices. Every person is assigned a role in the community.
When Jonas turns twelve, he is singled out to receive special training from The Giver. The Giver alone holds the memories of the true pain and pleasure of life. Now it's time for Jonas to receive the truth. There is no turning back."

This book is definitely one of my favorites. I really enjoyed the movie also, you should watch it if you decide to read the book. I highly recommend both:).

Thinking About... Favorite Books Part 1!

Hi everybody! I want to do a weekly series of posts about my favorite books. I know from experience that I always love to read a good book, and hopefully you do too!

The first book I want to share with you all is:
 Ride the River
By Louis L'Amour

Here is a book synopsis I found on www.louislamour.com:

"In Ride the River Louis L'Amour spins the tale of a young woman who has to protect her family fortune from a murderous thief — and teaches him what it means to be a Sackett....

Sixteen-year-old Echo Sackett had never been far from her Tennessee home — until she made the long trek to Philadelphia to collect an inheritance. Echo could take care of herself as well as any Sackett man, but James White, a sharp city lawyer, figured that cheating the money from the young country girl would be like taking candy from a baby.

If he couldn't hoodwink Echo out of the cash, he'd just steal it from her outright. And if she put up a fight? There were plenty of accidents that could happen to a country girl on her first trip to the big city....
"

I really enjoyed this adventure novel when I read it, I hope you enjoy it out too! Be sure to check out Part 2 next Monday!

Have a great day!
